Safety Division
The Safety division has responsibility for the implementation of the safety provisions of the Energy (Miscellaneous) Provisions Act 2006.
Environment and Customer Affairs Division
This Division has two distinct teams, the environment and renewables team and the energy customers team. This reflects the importance of these areas in energy and regulatory policy.
Electricity Markets and Operations Division
This Division is responsible for overseeing the electricity generation sector in Ireland as well the joint regulation of the SEM (along with NIAUR).
Gas Division
The Gas Division in the CER is responsible for the regulation of natural gas networks and supply. The team is also responsible for overseeing and leading the All island gas project.
Electricity Networks and Retail Division
The Electricity Networks and Retail Division oversees the regulation of Ireland's electricity transmission and distribution systems as well as the competitive retail electricity market.
