Strategic Plan

Renewables

The CER prepares and publishes a five year strategic plan which sets out our mission, strategic goals and plans to achieve those goals over a five year period. The latest strategic plan covers the period 2010 to 2014.

In January 2008 the CER updated its mission statement, which is as follows:

In a world where energy supply and prices are highly volatile, the mission of the CER, acting in the interests of consumers is to ensure that:

  • the lights stay on
  • the gas continues to flow
  • the prices charged are fair and reasonable
  • the environment is protected, and
  • electricity and gas are supplied safely.

We are committed to carrying out our functions in a fair, impartial, balanced and transparent manner. We will provide a professional and efficient service to all our stakeholders and will act with integrity and impartiality at all times.
