The CER deals with disputes, which are defined in law and governed by specific processes, and complaints, which are more general and are frequently raised by end customers.

Specific generation disputes typically relate to Network Connection and Trading and Settlement Code (Market Rules) matters. For information on connection disputes go to the Network Complaints & Disputes section. For information on wholesale market disputes go to the Wholesale Market Complaints & Disputes section.

Complaints

The CER also has a role in relation to dealing with complaints. SI 60 of 2005 gives the CER responsibility to deal with unresolved complaints with respect to suppliers and network operators in electricity. For details on the complaint handling process, please see the Consumer Complaints section of our website.
