Common Procedures

The Commission has today (6th October) published Common Procedure No 4: Transfer of Registration. This document clarifies the process for the completion of a Transfer of Registration request by a REC, including the measures that all electrical Safety Supervisory Bodies (SSBs)must adhere to when sharing information on any REC. This includes the steps taken by the SSBs to ensure that the disciplinary record of the REC will be maintained, when the REC switches between the relevant SSBs.

In April 2008, the Commission published the Criteria Document, which detailed the rules and obligations for parties operating within the new regulatory model for electrical safety.  Within the Criteria Document, the Commission confirmed that it would develop a set of Common Procedures to address the issues of Certification, Third Party Inspection, Change of Contractor, Enforcement and Modifications, which when finalised would form a part of the Criteria Document.

Following a series of industry workshops, which included respresentatives from the DSO, ETCI, ECSSA and RECI, the Commission developed a set of Common Procedures.
