MOU - CER and ETCI

The Commission and the Electro Technical Council of Ireland (ETCI) have signed an Memorandum of Understanding setting out the basis for cooperation between the two agencies.

The objective of this initiative is to recognise the respective roles and mutual interests of each organisation in relation to protecting public safety with respect to electrical installation work.

2006

On December 11th, the Commission published an updated version of the 'Criteria Document' and accompanying Background Document on the changes to CER/04/248.

2004

In 2004 the Commission published a document, CER/04/248 - Criteria for the Issue of a Regulatory Licence to an Electrical Contracting Licensed Regulatory Body, which outlines the roles and responsibilities of the various parties in the current voluntary self-regulatory regime in the electrical contracting industry in Ireland.

2002

In 2002, the Commission published its Report to the Minister for Public Enterprise on a Role for the Commission for Electricity Regulation in the Regulation of the Electrical Contracting Industry and an accompanying proposed Timetable for Implementation of New Approach to the Regulation of the Electrical Contracting Industry, which are available below.  It also published draft Criteria for Issue of a Regulatory License to an Electrical Contracting Licensed Regulatory Body for public comment.
