CER Factsheets
The CER publishes today (20th April 2011) a factsheet explaining the all-island Single Electricity Market (SEM), showing how it works to the benefit of electricity customers. This SEM factsheet is below.
The CER published five Factsheets in 2010, providing information on particular aspects of the energy sector and the CER's work. They are:
- Competition in Electricity Supply: This factsheet provides a summary of the CER's Roadmap to Deregulation of the Electricity Supply Market and its recent Competition Review.
- Electricity Prices in Ireland: This factsheet provides information on the factors influencing Irish Electricity Prices.
- Electricity Network and Charges: This factsheet explains the electricity network, how it impacts on electricity bills and how costs for the network are set. This relates to revenue review consultation papers issued in July 2010 for the Transmission and Distribution networks.
- Generator Connection Policy: This factsheet discusses the process by which new generation projects are connected to the network.
- Electricity Buyer's Guide for the Deregulated Market: This Guide is aimed at the small/medium sized business customer. It explains the deregulated electricity market and the possiblity to reduce electricity bills.
