Smart Metering Trial Data Publication.
The CER has today (24th January 2012) made publicly available an anonymised version of the detailed data underlying the smart metering gas customer behaviour trial results. This follows the release of similar anonymised data from the electricity customer behaviour trials on the 11th January 2012. It is envisaged that the release of both of these sets of data will facilitate further research and the development of competitive products and services following the anticipated rollout of Smart Metering in Ireland.
No personal or confidential information is contained in the data sets, which instead give anonymised behavioural and usage patterns.
The data sets can be accessed via

Gas Smart Metering Reports:
The CER has today (11th October 2011) published Smart Metering Information Paper 5 (CER 11/180) which highlights the publication of a number of key reports that will be used to inform future decisions regarding gas smart metering for residential consumers and small businesses in Ireland. These reports, which have been produced as part of Phase 1 of the CER Smart Metering Project, are:
.Gas customer behaviour trial findings report (CER/11/180a)
.Dual fuel technology trial findings report (CER/11/180b)
.Gas cost-benefit analysis report (CER/11/180c)
The Smart Metering Information Paper 5 gives an overview of the key findings of each of these gas smart metering reports, as well as referencing the key findings from a similar suite of reports published by the CER back in May 2011 on the results of the electricity smart metering trials and cost-benefit analysis. The Smart Metering Information Paper 5 then concludes by outlining the next steps for the CER Smart Metering Project in the context of the findings from all these reports.
