With the passing of the Petroluem (Exploration and Extraction) Safety Act in April 2010, the CER formally established a project team within its Safety Division to manage the design and implementation of the Petroleum Safety Framework. The Petroleum Safety Framework Implementation Project involves the CER:
- implementing the provisions of the Act in full; and
- putting in place the people, processes and procedures to enable the effective operation and enforcement of the Petroleum Safety Framework once implemented.
