Green Virtual Independent Power Producer (“GVIPP”) Auction 2006/2007

This auction enables licensed green suppliers to increase their sources of green generation by successfully bidding for the right to purchase electricity on the standard terms set out in the GVIPP agreements.

Announcement of Results

On Friday 2nd June the Commission held the first of two auctions (Auction1) under the Green VIPP 2006/2007 auction process. 40 MW units were available under this auction, with the output from such been exclusively reserved for sale to domestic customers. Resulting from this auction10 MW units have been awarded to successful bidders.

In line with the Final Principles paper on this matter (CER/06/041), all unallocated MW units from this first auction will be included in the second auction (Auction 2) of the Green VIPP 2006/2007 auction process. As such a total of 181 MW units will be included in Auction 2
